Revving Up CEBU!..This year’s theme for Miss Cebu 2015. The Coronation Night was held at Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
The Five Finalist’s Question: If you were to take Pope Francis to dinner in Cebu, who would be your Cebuano guest and why?”
Candidate #12 and eventual winner Wynonah Buot: “If I were to take Pope Francis for dinner here in Cebu, I will take with me the students of Cebu because our students are the hope of our future, and Pope Francis is the hope of our country. We can talk about how we can strengthen, unify, share love and respect so that we can encourage our citizens to take part and make a change in our society.”
The five-foot-eight stunner, a Mass Communications graduate and Miss UP-Cebu 2012, Buot collected almost all the awards namely Miss Friendship, Miss Photogenic, Kapamilya Star of the Night and Best in Evening Gown.
First runner-up is Maria Genefe Navilon, a 23-year-old creative writer and blogger
Second runner-up honors went to Aivy Mae Castro, a Daanbantayan native who is currently in her final year as Management Accounting major at the University of Cebu.
The third runner-up went to Lucena Rose Magdadaro, 23, a former taekwondo player and varsity basketball player who last year represented the town of Sogod in the Miss Philippines Earth pageant.
University of San Carlos Architecture student Domenic Reynes rounded out the Top Five.
By all indications, this will be a banner year for Cebu’s Tourism Industry. The launch of Lakbay Lingaw, Cebu’s newest tourism campaign will surely REV up Cebu as the premier destination not only by foreign tourists but locals as well.
